I love your Romy icons Sylvia, and I'm very glad, that you joined to us on Romy Schneider Fans! ^_^ And thank you the introduction, it's nice to meet you! :) And we're country neighbours ;) (In August I'll visit Vienna:)) And I grew up on Sissi too! :) xoxo
Yes, Austria and Hungary! :) Your Sissi icon is beautiful, btw. Such a shame that so many people all over the world didn't get to know Romy Schneider and her movies. I also liked the one, were she was the young Queen Victoria of England. Do you know that? The cutest movie ever!
Yes, it's sad thing, because she was such a great actress! Yes, I LOVED it! :D It was sooo great! :D I laughed on it a lot! :D I have it in German version, but I want it in Hungarian too. :p
I know mostly her early films, which she didn't like herself very much, later in life. More even as CF she got stuck on her "Sissi" image and had to go to France to "escape".
I first saw her in Sissi when I was very young. I know she felt "stuck" but it is a memorable role! And much, much later I saw "L' important c'est d' aimer," a most heart-breaking experience! Thanks to it however, I realized how talented she was and I really got to respect her work! She combines rare beauty and such talent!!!! A really great lady!
Great icons, hon! :) And yes, I love Romy Schneider too. I just purchased a DVD box with all the Sissi movies and plus the Queen Victoria-one (wanted to get rid of the old VHS tapes...). They are sooo cute and romantic... *sigh*
Yep. In German with subtitles. I simply walked in to a DVD shop and there this box was like waiting for exactly me. :) It's made for finnish sales - all the texts in the covers and discs are in Finnish and the subtitles only in Finnish and Swedish. Cost me something like 45€ if I remember right... But I don't think it's bad for four movies. Funny thing is that Queen Victoria is there as a bonus - some bonus indeed :)
