Jasmine isn't happy.

She wasn't happy when Eight-Hour fire-moved her to the fringes of civilization.

She was, if anything, less happy when she discovered she had to walk four hours just to get within reach of Downside public transport, and that the subsequent ride home took another four hours ( Read more... )

Quick as a snake, Jasmine's free hand finds the back of Anna's neck, and she digs her fingernails in at the sides - there and there. It's not the most elegant trick in her repertoire, but given the circumstances, perhaps it will do.

What Jasmine has perhaps forgotten is that Clark has a free hand too. And chances are, his choke hold skills are better than hers. It's probably genetic, after all.

But Jasmine is finding that out, right about now. "Let her go."

The shock of sudden agony startles Anna-- Eights-- into old habits.

"Non," she says, sharply and softly, relaxing into Jasmine's grip.

Jasmine smirks.

She knew it would work.

"I believe the lady has spoken for herself."

"I believe I made it clear I don't really care. Fickle, remember?" His grip tightens. "I won't tell you again. Let her go."

Eight-Hour inhales sharply.

There's a moment where she wavers, caught in the blank space between two conflicting desires.

Just a moment.

It's enough of a moment for Jasmine. In a chokehold is not the greatest position in the world from which to torture someone, but she's nothing if not innovative, and she already has a hand on Eights' neck. It doesn't take much to shift her grip just a little - enough, perhaps to keep the contractor mentally off balance.

Enough that when she says, "You will cause him to release me," perhaps this time she'll be obeyed.

The moment ends.

"I really fucking won't," says Anna, and punches Jasmine in the stomach.

Gurk.

That was unexpected.

Unluckily for Anna, however, instead of causing Jazz to let go it makes her hand twitch, nails stabbing into the shorter woman's skin.

Yeah, Clark's had about enough of this. He barely moves his arm, but Jasmine will find herself flying through the air and landing - hard - on the beach about fifty feet away from them.

He'll feel guilty for any harm caused Anna in a minute.

"Go," is all he tells her.

Anna goes.

He has little to feel guilty about - she fire-moves away so fast the gashes in her neck don't even have time to bleed.

Jasmine has really had just about enough of this. She disapproves of sand, especially when it gets into the places that this particular sand seems determined to investigage. She also disapproves of bruises, at least on herself. Now she's got both.

Not to mention Eight-Hour is no longer under her control. That's novel, and not in a good way.

Clark stalks toward her and glares down.

"You're going back now. And you're not coming back, is that clear?"

"Understood," says Jasmine, getting up and dusting herself off as best she can.

With a smirk, "Not that I have any intention of obeying such a ridiculous edict."

"Oh you will. Because if I ever see you here again? I'm not going to be so nice next time." He tilts his head. "And I think you're well aware that you don't stand a chance against me."

"Forgotten our first meeting already? But it went so well," she purrs.

"Next time I shall be certain to come prepared."
