Итак, из новинок 2018 года от CRKT вам был интересен и топор Freyr.
Его автор также Elmer Roush. И доступен к покупке топор будет уже в январе 2018 года.
New tactical axe draws from Nordic heritage.
The newest addition to the CRKT® tactical axe lineup turns heads.
Designed by Air Force veteran, Elmer Roush, it’s not simply a tactical tool but a work of art.
Though a traditional deep beard might have been used to pull back an enemy shield in a battle hundreds of years ago, in this contemporary application, it serves to balance out the carefully designed axe head.
Named after the Norse god of prosperity, its Viking soul stands up to its classic appearance.
Measuring in at 4.5” and made of 1055 carbon steel, the axe head is finished with a magnesium phosphate coating-a detail that an old Viking warrior certainly would have liked to have in the midst of a dirty job. The expertly crafted axe head is met with a handle carved of Tennessee hickory precisely designed for durability and ease of use. An aftermarket leather sheath is available for purchase.
“I am strongly influenced by my study of axes from the Paleolithic time to the present. Knowing how these axes have evolved, how they were used, and why one axe is used for one job and another style axe is used for a different job are all good ways to guide my design,” reflects Elmer on his inspiration for the Freyr™.
If it’s true that history repeats itself, then this utilitarian axe is definitive proof.
