This evening I had the privilege of meeting Jane Hirshfield and hearing her read. She was light and generous and kind, and this is just one of the many wonderful poems she shared.

Jealous that you got a chance to meet Hirshfield and hear her read! I'd always wanted to see her read. This past weekend, I was supposed to go and hear W. S. Merwin read but I got sick. :( Anyway, gorgeous poem. Thanks so much for sharing. The last line says it all. :)
