Refrain - Allen Ginsberg

I'm looking for a poem, which I unfortunately don't recall the title nor the author of, but I think it was posted here some time ago. It was about a bleeding deer running from the arms of a goddess or something to that extent? I believe it was translated from Spanish. Any help is appreciated ( Read more... )

Do you think the poem you're talking about might be Huye el Rio, Ciervo Herido (The River Runs/Flows, Wounded Deer) by Adriano del Valle?

I found the Spanish version here but I couldn't find an English translation. I could give you a rough translation if you want, but I know that's not really the same... at all.. lol

Oooh! I am 99% sure this is the poem I was thinking of, although it was the English version of it I read - but that might very well have been a translation the person who made the post could have written.

Unless it's too much of a hassle, I'd love to read a translation, rough or not, so that I might compare the original poem with it. :D

Thank you so much for commenting - this has been very helpful. :)

"Shadow changes into bone."

I am new here, and somewhat of a lurker, but this is a wonderful line.

Reminds me-- and I need no reminding, but want to be reminded anyway--of why I love Ginsberg.

Thank you so much for this!

As normaltrouble said - I don't need to be reminded of why I love Ginsberg, but how I love being reminded anyway. That man was pure poetic genius.
