hehe... :) I once found 'Let us Compare Mythologies' at a bookstore.. They had imported a few copies and for me (student, broke) it was a sky high price.. and I did the same..

I think I used to find this poem cute once but now when I read it, the image of this beautiful woman wearing a raincoat is so fetishized sounding to me it makes me wonder how he really feels about women and also it really sounds like he's about to jump out behind the book shelf and rape her, because it just sounds predatory to me, even if its a made up reader/character.

I got a creepy sense from this the first time I read this (and still do), which lead me to write a really scathing imitation of this.

So yes, you're not the only one.
