I had a really incredible arts professor who, whenever people used to exclaim things like "yah well, my five year old could have done that" or "I could do that with my eyes closed and drunk" would turn to them and say "yes, but you didn't"

simple and to the point..."but you didn't". It's a rather frustrating thing because so often i find myself thinking "man, i could have done that...why didn't i do that"
