[Wow, that's a handy video feed. It's filled with the face of some angry looking alien growling straight in the camera. There's obviously someone behind the feed. It's Kais if you couldn't tell by the armor on his four fingered hands or the futuristic gun that's visible on the bottom of the screen. Yes, it's in his point of view. The joy of ( Read more... )

Very nice. Very nice indeed. As for instructions, if you are willing to believe ze rulers of zis City, it is time for a little game of hide and seek with zose crystals.

Oh. Does zat little trick you did earlier when I arrived still work?

And here we are without ze gift.

[They make it toward the heart of the city then. The metal walls and futuristic life is clean and pristine at first. But the farther they go, the more they will see trails of slime along the floor and the loud whirring of turbines or some sort of energy source. There is a flash of light from the building next to them. A dull blue that flashes for a moment before it is gone.]

[Kais sticks with him, his gun aimed around every corner and hallway they came across. He kept his eyes out, hoping that he wouldn't spot orks or, even worse, tyranids along their path. The slime, unfortunately, could mean either one in Kais' mind.]

[There is a chattering ahead that Yeager can't understand. He motions for him and Kais to hide behind the edge of a building as they listen. Small green goblins with swords are arguing with each other. Gretchins. Two of them seem to be in quite the arguement while three other look on. One of the by standards is even sitting on a large metal box.]

[Kais reaches into one of his belt pocket and pulls out a plasma grenade. He doesn't activate it or throw it but waits for a signal.]

[Yeager sees his action out of the corner of his eye. He nods and moves back giving Kais a better vantage point.]

[He presses the activator and tosses it in the gretchin's midst. It hits the ground with a clunk, attracting their attention. Before anyone can grab it, it explodes in a large ball of blue plasma, incinerating the ones close by.]

[The two arguing ones are gone still pointing accusing fingers at each other as they get obliterated. Of the onlooking crowd, one is on the ground clawing at wounds. The final two hid behind the box which was quite sturdy and didn't break under the blast. They start chattering to each other in a different language. Yeager leans out of hiding and pulls out a crossbow. He shoots and aims for the head of one of the creatures.]

[Since Yeager clearly has that one handled, Kais brings up his rifle and plugs off a blast of plasma at the other, not caring about where he hits. The resulting impact would kill it either way.]

[When the last two are blow into oblivion, Yeager gives out a chuckle.]

I think in ze future, I'm just going to leave zis to you, ja. You've got zis handled better zan almost anyone I know.

[Yeager walks out of their hiding place to the gore, but more specifically to the box.] Do you recognize ze creatures?

[He walks out too and peers at the corpses.]

Possibly Orks, though these are the small ones. If we encounter large ones, my weaponry will not be enough for multiple targets. If you...can be faster or stronger than a normal human, you will be a far better asset.

...aim for the head. No shot to their body will harm the bigger ones unless large portions of their body are blown away.

A normal human in your world might be very different from mine, ja indeed. But stronger... I have doubts zere. But ze aiming advice I will take to heart. [If anything, he's put all his skills into escape artist rather than warrior.]

[Yeager leans over the box and looks it over. It doesn't have an obvious opening mechanism, but he fiddles with it anyway. It is covered in slime now that they get closer.

The noise, however, seemed to have attracted some unwanted guests. Orders can be heard shouting from the street over and the shadows of much larger creatures filter out into the open area they are at.]

Can we bring the box with us? With more enemies, I can grant us a few seconds at most.

[He reaches into his pack and pulls out a plate sized object and activates it, leaving it floating in the air.]

This drone can provide a distraction and kill one or two but all of them would require more men.

Zat would be a good idea, ja.

[Yeager nods at Kais slinging his weapon over his shoulder. He could really never tire of this future technology. The place currently he could live without, but the weapons were fascinating enough. He picks up the box getting covered with goo in the process, but hey, that is what scavenger hunts are for, right?

As they are making preparations four Orks heavily armed are now visible. The pair hasn't been spotted yet, but the metal sound behind them denotes some machine, a car or bike or something with an engine, is following the patrol.]

Now would be a very good time to leave.

[He quickly programs the floating drone to shoot at and suicide against the largest target and he starts to back away, preparing to make a run for it.]

[Yeager doesn't need to be told twice and follows after Kais. The Orks do spy them as they leave, but they have other things to worry about as the drone does its work.]
