They're somewhat rude, and people often use them instead of meeting face to face. I'm under the impression that speaking in person is much better than over a phone. That's why I own one for necessary situations.

You can call me if you need to, but it would be much easier if you came to my dorm. I have some things to show you.

I've been busy working as of late. I go to some of my classes, but it's difficult to concentrate on things I've already learned when I have a case to solve.

You still shouldn't miss a class. I know half of the things taught in my Calculus class, but I don't go skipping off because I was already taught it during my years at high school.

But I suppose if you pass the class then there's nothing to complain about...
