The last several days have been interesting, productive, fun and relaxing. Jeff had accumulated some time off from working extra days, and he bundled them around this particular weekend. I hope the deer will stay out of the garden now.

Best thing to have against them is a force field! ;)

Just this morning, I opened my back gate to the 'woods' behind the house to let the pups go pee and poo - and to my surprise, I surprised a medium-size deer about three feet beyond the gate. I think everybody jumped - but the deer won the prize making it about 15 feet in one bound.

At Mom's old place that she moved out of last fall, she had been having issues with deer eating her roses, and she lived in a suburban area too, though her street is more rural like than most of the area and there are woods nearby so that meant often having no roses.
