Reconditioned can often be better than new.

It depends. If you can get one with a factory warranty equivalent to a new unit, it's most likely going to be a good deal. I know a couple people who did this via Dell a while back. The systems looked and were packaged like new, and apparently worked out well for them (I had not been asked for tech support! lol). If the systems are current and warranted by the manufacturer, go for it. Anything I have gotten in the past that was factory reconditioned has performed just as good as a new item.

Is the Olney Ale House still across the way? Still gay owned and mixed operated? I haven't been there in years, and last time I was there the atmosphere had changed a bunch with the influx of townhouses (or so it seemed to me).

Yes, it's still there, and it was to be our first choice for our after-show meal, but it was closed for the holiday. It's been a while since I'd been there, a few years at most. Last I was there the food, service and people were great. Can't speak for what its like now, but I bet it can't be too bad, it's a tough crowd to please around there.
