I hope you'll get some joy when you talk with your doctor about this - I'm thinking this might just be a stage of recovery of surgery, or just a sign that you need to take it easy for a while.
(I had wanted to call you over the weekend, but had a chance to visit with a friend all day Sunday - and a very busy upcoming week had me doing all my housework here on Saturday - will post about that in my LJ soon.)

Healing isn't a steady process, there are lulls and setbacks, and unexpected turns.
You've had major surgery, Phil, and you've been VERY active recently. Of course your body is gonna go "whaa?"
I hope this spate of bad symptoms is just a hump in the road, and you and your docs can make your way toward fuller mobility. It may take months instead of the weeks you might be expecting. In my experience, it took nearly six months for the surgical site to calm down and stop swelling or aching or doing something that affected my hearing or jaw motion. Not all of that was feeling bad, but the flare-ups eventually came less frequently.
It sucks when planned treats have to be cancelled. Disappointing and frustrating. Damn!
Glad the roof is done!

But really and truly, I DO hope DO get some sleep and DO heal and when you see the doc(s), hope they have some encouraging news for you.
Hugs!
