I guess the "Collision Warning With Auto Brake" system must have been distracted by the txt sent to it by the Engine Control Unit.

Yeah. Stop relying on technology so much when it comes to driving. Simply pay attention, people!

fail, technology. cars, video post

I saw that one. I guess a few people must have felt pretty stupid. :)

The video is blocked for me at work, but I can bet from the comments and description that this is the 'not supposed to crash into the back of the truck' Volvo video I've seen going around?

OMG, I can just imagine the whole scenario. I see the video still but am not playing it at work but that's too funny.

My poor old truck is so manual it's almost painful. :-)

I wish I had anything to help. I had my first at-fault car accident yesterday. I took out a 7 day old Prius and my Pathfinder. They had seemingly 20 airbags, so they just got bag rash. Mine so old it had nothing, I broke my clavicle on the shoulder belt. I never felt comfortable riding in something so old that it had no modern safety features, I just went out and bought a new car, with all those safety features. I didn't opt for the collision warning/braking system however. This accident never would have happened if I had anti-lock brakes.
