Four legged robotics

I am sure by now that most of you have seen the video of the amazing (and creepy) "Big Dog" quadrupedal robot. The thing is by far the most amazing example of legged robotics I have seen to date, the only thing needed is to put this into a friendly appearing (or maybe not) body and ditch the two-stroke engine it uses for power.

ok...that was extremely cool. but i have to admit that i anthropormorphised that thing SO quickly that i was angry when the techie kicked it.

That's an impressive piece of work, especially the robot's self-righting ability. The other vid is a scream, too.
