Silly question -- I've forgotten whether we need to use the exact words of the prompt somewhere in the fic, or not!

Oh, that's a good question, not a silly one! :-)

But no, you don't have to use the exact words. You can use the prompt to inspire you in any way you like. I'd say it should be clear from your fic which prompt you've been working with, though.
