I really like it. :-) That little Lucie should have chosen to confide in Sydney of all people was really touching, but somehow very plausible. Also, you've shown Sydney's distance from the others very palpably, I could sympathize really well with his isolation.

Reading your fics always makes me want to read all the Dickens novels I haven't read yet - I'll probably start with "A Tale of Two Cities" now since you've given us so many interesting glimpses into the characters! :-)
