TV junkish

I think we may be getting DirectTV, which means several things. One: Turner Classic Movies! Turner Classic Movies! Turner Classic Movies!

Two: About a gajillion religious channels (really more like five or six, but Jesus!), including one just titled GodTV. I don't know if good would watch GodTV. He seems to be more of a Pay-Per-View kinda ( Read more... )

I'm sure now that I posted that entry the whole thing will fall through because of lack of a signal or something. And then there will be no NASA TV. And then I will be sad. :(

NASA TV is (last time I paused on it) not terribly exciting. Usually it's just a camera in mission control cut with the view of earth out the window of whatever craft is up at the time, and people doing the day-to-day stuff, like "Do a maintenance check on valve 45-H." "Confirm check on valve 45-H, normal." That, or CGI models of things. It's a good background-noise channel.

As for Turner Classic Movies... you're gonna love it. :)

Yaaay TCM! Many a night I have lain awake in my bed thinking "If only I had access to Casablanca on my television!" And now it shall come to pass!

OK, maybe I'm not that excited. But still. I'm excited.

And yeeeeeah, I don't think I'll be recording too much of the NASA stuff. Maybe if we discover extraterrestrial life I'll look into it.
