A lonnnnng overview of my NYC trip

The train ride itself was fairly interesting. Well, not for the first few hours; the train went really slow, and of course smelled like farts, and theeeeeeen. . .

A dump truck ran into the train! )

I know, the train ride really sucked. We were between Cary and Raleigh (in NC), and when the train hit the dump truck it was going really slow, thank goodness, 'cause if it was going much faster it might have tipped over or something. I think we were pretty damned lucky.

Hmmm. . . actually, I did buy one book from the Jewish muesum, and an art print from the coolest used book store ever, and of course lots of postcards, and these metal army men that are really Roman legionnaires in really short skirts *whistles* and some stickers and a pencil and actually most of the money we spent went towards food, which was soooooo good. We only ate fast food once, yippee!

*bangs on door* Hiya! Welcome back.

Good thing you didn't get hurt in that collision. You were only inconvenienced (sp?) and survived.

NYC sounds like fun and the place to visit for the summer. I'm glad you had fun. *goes to look at posts with pics*

I know, if the train had been going much faster when it hit the dump truck, the whole thing really could have sucked. I'm glad that we decided to go on to NYC after the train wreck, as we could've just decided to say "screw it" and go home.

NYC was great, but man was it ever hot. I heard that it's good to visit in August, because it's so hot that it's not as busy. In that case, I think it's best to get a room with AC, though. *retroactively swelters*
