Cyrano de Bergerac: The bracelet

Nov 01, 2013 16:20

I ended up making another bracelet -- it was easier than an art journal. Sorry it's two days late! This one tells the story of Cyrano de Bergerac.

The sword represents Cyrano's duel in the first scene; the pen and ink represent the letter he later writes to Roxane (and all the letters that follow it); the moonstone represents the story about the moon that he tells to De Guiche during Roxane and Christian's wedding; and the plume represents his white plume or "panache" that he speaks of taking to heaven with him at the end. There are leaves on the clasp, representing the vine on Roxane's balcony when Christian and Cyrano speak to her from below.
