I just got word that squirrels were rampaging in my kitchen this afternoon. I had just made a batch of cookies last night and they broke in through the screen, gnawing their way through, to get to them. Ariana and I saw the little bastards on our back upper porch last night, peering in at us. After discovering a tiny cigarette burn sized hole

Not to mention that if you are anything like me you will be paranoid about keeping the window open and that sucks in the middle of summer.
I had a similar experience last year at my house except it was rats and no one was feeding them. I now turn my compost more regularly which seems to keep the rats out.

I do prefer the squirrels over rats, having lived with them at my last place, but neither would be preferrable!

At least squirrels prefer to be outdoors while rats are happy as clams to live in the nooks and crannies of one's house...
