As most of you know, this is my last year of writing fanfiction. My hiatus is indefinite. I want to concentrate on a little project I started a while back called "School of Awesome." I have a lot of research will go into preparing to write that series. I have a lot of interviews to do and decisions to me. I also has started with me reading a few young adult readers.
So, about year and a half ago (maybe longer) I started reading a young adult series called The Clique series. It's about a group of fabulously rich middle schoolers that have it all and live in Westchester, NY. That was quickly followed by a series that was called The Ashleys. It has the same premise, but they live in San Francisco. Though they probably shouldn't be read by the ages that they are intended for, they are fun reads. But recently I have been left wondering at the whole popular girls/clique cliche.
So, I want to turn to you guys, my beloved flist. I hope all of you will take the time to answer. It would help me out a lot. I want to know about your school experiences. Were there cliques in your school? What about the stereotypically "popular" kids? Did the cliques in your school overlap with others?
