"I'm still trying to find the first American to talk to who's in favor of the public option, other than a member of Congress or the administration."
Maybe he should stop talking to his spoon ( ... )

The phrase they are pulling the entire idea of death panels from? "End of life counseling will be mandatory." End of life counseling =/= death panels, and it's actually a pretty good idea, I think!

The more I learn about nationalized healthcare, the more I want it. I had to do a presentation in one of my classes last year about nationalized healthcare. Basically, I and another guy had to debate and present the two opposing sides.

I had the misfortune of the more I read about why national healthcare was bad, the more I realized I really wanted it. It made debating really, really hard.

I don't know how people get 'death panel' from 'end of life counseling will be mandatory'. To me it sounds more like if you're faced with a terminal illness, facing a life-threatening surgery or are a senior citizen it would be a good idea ( ... )

Yeah. And I'm furious by the apparent hypocrisy in some of the protesters-- IE, MY FREAKING PARENTS.

Who are using one of the equivalents of a public option.

For god's sake.

When I went to the dentist the other day with mama, our copay ended up being 800 dollars because insurance suddenly went, "oh we...deem this unnecessary! we shall not cover it! :D" and now we're sitting here going, "shit shit that is a lot of money what."

In short, I will stab things if there is not a public option. People should have actual coverage. You know, that covers things. They can knock it off pretending most people don't want this.

You are really really awesome. I try to not voice my opinion on the health care debate because I'm not American so I really have no place to speak, but I can't help but be all "uuuuugh" when one of my friends tell me they're feeling sick, and when I tell them "waaaah go to the doctor!" their reply is "I can't, I have no insurance" :\ I understand some concerns (about the public health care debate, I mean), but the thing about death panels I find it kind of weird-- I mean, aren't insurances already kind of doing it already? I obviously can't know, but, that's what I get :(;;

Military personnel get medical coverage from the government, and no one calls them on it (for good reason). Senators get medical coverage from the government, and no one calls them on it. If it's good enough for our soldiers and our politicians, then it's good enough for me.

I'd like to be able to get some medication for my low blood pressure, but the current system won't allow it at my income level. How is the public option a bad thing?
