Hello, Hello Again.

Hello My Lovely Monkeys

Well, the idea is to try and keep this thing updated on a more regular basis. Funny thing is since my last post I’ve had sorts of things I thought I could post about but now that I sit down to it I’m having trouble remembering them.
OK how about some stuff going on, probably spread out over the next few days.

yikes! If both you and Danny don't cotton to the transformers, I suspect that I'm totally out of luck then. I thought this FF was pretty fun, if only for the family bits and seeing a super-skrull type situation. BHK went to see knocked up and mentioned that it was the first movie she'd wanted to walk out on in a long time.

I remember I, Claudius from the mid-80s on PBS.... and I seem to remember it has Cap'n Picard in it with hair!

I had no idea that Bullfinch's mythology was not as accurate as it might be... thought that it was the go-to guide for a quick bit of reliable know how.

Glad to see you back in action!

Oh as far as I know Bullfinch's is still a solid, if "reader's digested" mythology reference, I meant to say that Robert Graves, "Greek Myths" are not to be trusted, in regards to his ample footnotes.
Graves had these ideas of how back before mankind related sexual intercourse to childbirth, women were seen as magical and society was matriarchal and everyone worshiped a great mother goddess, while this may or may not be true, jury's still out as far as I know, as were well into the realm of speculation, in his footnotes he often tries to tie many of the stories back to this theory, even if he has to hammer them in there to make it fit. Still good stuff though if you like mythology.

Ah, gotcha... can't say as I've read Grave's stuff... I'll remember to take a peek with a grain of salt when the time comes.

The matriarchal mother goddess followers concept has always seemed pretty suspect to me. I feel that mankind must've worked out pretty early on how animals (including humans) procreate... spontaneous generation aside.

Yeah, same with me, for the same reasons, just can't see them not working it out.
