I think I'm only going to get one pumpkin this year. I had three big female flowers open up, not that far from the base of the vines, but there were NO male flowers open at all. They opened three or four days later - not helpful! Finally one more female opened and I hand-pollinated it, and I'm going to get a pumpkin from that. Since then, they have ( Read more... )

Looks like your fat orange "plumpKat" is growing great!
Whoa! What happened to the papyrus? Not enough sunlight I'd suspect.

It always gets raggedy over the winter. That's why I had it under a light on a timer. Next winter I'm going to see if I can get a real grow light, and run it all winter, rather than starting after the damage has already been done. It has plenty of new stems coming up, though.
