056 - the killing time [backdated to Tuesday]

Humans, aliens, vampires.. we all sometimes fight for what we want, what we feel we need. It's part of our genes, our natural instincts. We're no different than animals in that sense. So many of the inmates here are like Siamese Fighting Fish, Beta Fish.. oblivious to wardens but so anxious to draw blood from each other ( Read more... )

[She's just going to... ignore that 'no friends' comment. :| For now. Sylar, you're so confusing.]

That's actually one of my favorite songs. How long have you been here?

Eighteen months.

I know I have complained at times but honestly, if people are bored and impatient here I wonder how they would have coped with nothing at all to do and nobody at all to talk to, trapped in one small cell for over half a century. They don't know how good they really have it here.

It's a poor comparison. If an inmate killed ten people in a month, then five.. it's an improvement. They still shouldn't be killing people. Your perspective is skewed, warped. Trying to see the positive.

Assuming Sylar heard generic vague rumor of O'Brien punching someone (can edit if you want) gray_atonement June 16 2010, 18:34:58 UTC
Then why did you snap?

What's the difference, really? Tearing you from what you know, what you want.

Not so true... There were many times it was intent upon regaining me the humanity which once was my own.

Compromise was necessary.

Humanity is different for humans and vampires. You lost your humanity long ago, found it again here. If you haven't lost it, how are you supposed to find it? To graduate?

This is being my point... It is different for each creature here. I learned compassion is not weakness. It can be strength, too.

There were better ways to have taught this lesson, but taught it was.

Those of us with humanity instilled have no chance of graduating for that reason.

Well, gee, once you've lost everything else it looks like there's still time for self-pitying rants about stuff everybody knows already.
