Hm. How old is Carys again? When I was in pre-school, I can still remember them trying to get me to take a nap, and I never could fall asleep. It used to make me very frustrated (which is probably why I remember) that adults wouldn't understand that I just wasn't tired. (Actually, I've never felt the need for daytime naps, and if I try to take one, I invariably wake up feeling grubby. Then I can't get to sleep at night.)
Of course, none of that could be what's going on with her, I'm just saying that it's a possibility.
17 months. Very unusual for them to not need a nap at this age, plus, I am certainly not willing to believe that she'd go from 2+ hours per day to zero overnight. I have a very strong gut feeling about "just a phase" - her actual naptime may also need some tweaking. She'll go down later tomorrow (Weds) and we'll see how that goes.
It *is* normal for them to resist naps due to wanting to be with parents, so I'm sure that's part of it.
Your inability to take naps in preschool is much more normal than an inability in a 17 mo'er. :)
I wanted to ask you, randomly - where did you come down on Borat? Rent or no rent?
