Things one can blend in to make mixes richer(not always the same as moister). Fruit puree(tree fruits or berries not citrus), nut butter, pudding/custard, yogurt, sour cream, cream cheese, extra eggs, change the fat to heavier oils or melted butter, jams and jellies, melted chocolate, squashes or zucchini.
I have both yellow and chocolate mixes, and they definitely need to be moister; richer wouldn't hurt. I'm glad I wasn't insane regarding the pudding - I think I'll try it for the chocolate. Thanks!
Made. I'm sorry I dropped this conversation. My schedule's been off, bleah. Here's what I am thinking - I got some premade chocolate pudding, and I also have some vanilla full fat yogurt. What if I stir the pudding into the chocolate mix and the yogurt into the yellow cake mix? Moister and richer? Thanks for all the help so far.
Oh, also - is it ok to mix up the batter tonight and refrigerate it?
I wanted to watch Heroes with Garrett but was halted a few minutes into the first episode by some web cam woman. Is the show generally kid appropriate?
I'd say no. The web cam woman ended up getting attacked by thugs, who were then mutilated by her alter ego (and the carnage showed up in a car trunk in this latest ep). There are also now a series of cases of people with the tops of their heads sawed off and their brains missing. Kind of strong imagery (sorry for the semi-spoilers).
So yeah...there are a number of moments that are kind of neat for kids, such as the discovery of the flying superpower, but there are way too many heavy moments even w/o the violence (the guy who may or may not be able to fly had a depressive/suicidal dad, for example, and he and his mom talk about that and the cover-up of the depression).
Sorry. I think you and Steve would enjoy it. (Gosh, I had to turn you away from Battlestar Galactica, too, didn't I?!)
Yeah, but I *really* appreciate it. :) Garrett is on the verge between little kid and big kid. He has a big kid's interest in stuff, but a little kid's ability to be haunted by it once he gets his eyes on it. We watched "Last Starfighter" with him this weekend, and he averted his gaze from a bunch of that. I'm pretty sure the stuff you described above would send him screaming from the room! (And into the room--mine that is--at night.)

I'm all interested in watching this week's Heroes now though :). Recorded, but not watched yet.
