Tomorrow Carys will be four weeks old! I can't believe it. This is more or less a "parenting" entry, but it's also the only thing going on in my life right now, so I'm just making this generally accessible

No, but she's surprisingly Pavlovian about having her diaper changed. She MUST eat afterwards. Well, and she is starting to "listen" to me a bit more about her latch on. She is learning that if she gnaws on me, she doesn't get the boob in her face for a few minutes like she wants.
Awww I'm glad she was so well behaved for you guys - seriously, any time I've tried to take a baby, even one that small, out in a public place (or been with someone who has) it's just been chaos.
Heh. I'm sure we'll have chaos eventually. In reality, we *did* at certain points, but you can't tell in the middle of the National Zoo, which was absolutely swarming with strollers and rugrats on the loose.
The other advantage was hanging out with people who also had a small baby, so they weren't impatient. Not that you are, I'm just saying that their concept of time is currently bent and twisted in the exact same way as ours, which is helpful in minimizing the feeling of being the cause of chaos.
PS I know you've been making some hard personal decisions lately - I've seen your entries, just wanted you to know I've been thinking about you. :* Take care.
Kudos to breast feeding in public. It's rediculous for people to be offended. HELLO! It's only the most basic, fundamental human activity. Rock out with your boobie out!
So, I'm very behind in reading (ha! and writing) LJ, but I really enjoyed reading about your day at the zoo. That sounded like a LOT of fun. Isn't it nice to realize that you can still go do fun stuff, and learn how having a baby colors that differently?
Good observations about people looking at you while feeding/changing. I changed Caitlin LITERALLY on a busy San Fran sidewalk the other day, (and it was a dirty too!)and it just doesn't matter. Gotta do it! I think most people understand. How do you like the changing mat?
Ok, gotta go switch the laundry. TTY soon, I hope!
