2009 do you wants a holiday card from me? (ew, no) post

Nov 24, 2009 20:34

Do you like the holidays? Do you like exchanging and receiving holiday greeting cards in the mail from your friends here on LiveJournal? Then, guess what, guess what?! This post is for you!

If you'd like a holiday greeting card from me this year, please comment with your address exactly as it appears on an envelope. The comments are screened, however if you feel more comfortable emailing it to me, please feel free to do so: ivorydeer@gmail.com. I do live in the US, so if you're overseas, it would be helpful to know how many stamps I should be sticking on my envelope when I'm sending something to you. (I don't deny to be completely clueless about this crap.)

If you want my address to send me one in return, or you've written a similar post, please comment and I'll either email you my address or comment with it on your post!

I've never ended up having to filter my holiday cards post every year I've done them by default, and as it turned out, not many people commented anyway, so I'm not doing it again this year. BUT I do have close to 70 on my flist and in the unlikely situation that everyone ends up wanting one this year, I'm sorry to say I won't be able to get to you all and will inevitably just do what I did for Halloween. *coughs* PICK MY FAVORITES *coughs* *coughs* *cough*

I feel like such a lame-o for not coming up with this sooner, but I decided to BAKE STUFF for my friends and some family members (who I know will actually consume the horrors that are cookies, brownies, and cupcakes). For some reason, my mom doesn't really consider buying ingredients to bake gifts for friends the same as me asking her to buy books and stuff for them. *shrugs* I'LL TAKE IT! :D So, that's what I'm doing. Baking stuff. My friend Kim gave me the idea, because she said she's going to be knitting something for me, lol. Since she basically gave away the surprise, I just went ahead and asked what type of baked goodness she enjoyed eating the most. I'm making her some cupcakes and snickerdoodles, because I don't care if you hate snickerdoodles, I BAKE, YOU GET SNICKERDOODLES.

Considering it's been eons since I've done one of these -- I think I skipped 2008 and just sent cards to who I wanted -- I decided to go back and find a holiday cards entry to copy and paste. Of course, doing this caused me to stop and read some old entries of mine. I was blindly skipping +100 entries, trying to find ones near December... lo and behold, the ones I come across? All Twilight-related. XD It's hilarious to go back and see how, not just obsessed I was, but overtly so. And the people that commented? OMG, I miss the occasional spam-posts I got (namely from natacha92, fadedpresence, and I think annemaris, you were in there a little bit too). It was fun, guiz, it was. :')

But this one post actually made me LOL: ENJOY!

In other new, rejoice! For the band Sea Wolf has finally overtaken Alexz Johnson on my Lastfm account's main page. (Rofl, the last time I listened to her was, liek, 2006, I think.) It makes me happy, though, because I've loved Sea Wolf for a while and they SHOULD be up there next to Death Cab for Cutie and MCR on Lastfm. ;P

Ugh, I hate it when I know I had something else to say, and now I can't remember what it was.

BYEBYEBYEBYEBYEBYEBYEEEEEEEEHHHGGNOG

ETA: Sheer brilliance! I thought of another gift idea since I'm short on cashola~ this year. I'm going to make you all mixed CDs and send them along with your cards. I've got to get the go ahead from my mom, but I don't see why she'll have any problem with this. So, just comment if you want one when you leave me your address.
