My mom has been in and out of the hospital for a few weeks now. She had over a foot of her intestine removed, and the three main arteries which supply bloodflow to the intestines are 10%, 70%, and 90% blocked. She's scheduled to have a bypass the first week of January. She can barely eat anything and is getting weaker daily. The doctors are not ( Read more... )

*hugs* There's really not a lot of good advice to give for this. Best I have from when my father was passing, just take each day at a time, and try to take care of yourself as well as your Mom.

my dear Brandi. this may sound crass but you're now a part of an extremely exclusive club. You, Kath, my current BFF Taylor and I are all in a place where we are having to watch our mothers die. I've found that when I just can't do it anymore I'm best in the company of my fellow members. Other women who know that if I want to talk about it I will. Who can read the lines on the forehead and the creases around the mouth and the bags under the eyes. There is a bond there. And when everything goes down... the women that stood by you will be the ones to hold you up after. I love you, B. And I know Kath does too. And even though I'm not around much it doesn't mean I'm notTHERE. You are in my thoughts always and my prayers often. You're never EVER alone in this. We will be here for your support.
