Gov. Chris Gregoire on Monday signed legislation giving registered same-sex domestic partners all the rights and benefits that Washington now offers married couples.

they should still be allowed to get married. now it's just the principal of the thing.

oh, definitely. I'm glad that the bill has been signed, because it's a step in the right direction, but at least now legally things are the same? I know it's not enough, and still not right, but it makes me hopeful.
