Question regarding disposing of scalpel blades

For those who live/work around Farringdon in London, when you have filled a safety container with old scalpel blades, where do you dispose of the container ( Read more... )

try contacting a local hospital. hospitals have a sharps disposal programme and they should at least be able to point you in the right direction, if not take the blades for you.

Is that really necessary? I'd never thought about it but if you're not cutting into people it's not a biohazard like a Dr's scalpel or used needle.

well, we have a potential nail (scalpel) bomb on our hands and really needs to be disposed of safely. can't just toss it into the bin either, if it happens to open up and a bin man cuts his hands open on them - it's the last thing we want.
