hate, knees, delicious rage.

That episode of Dr Who with the liquid-latex copypeople who were led by EVIL BOSSY WOMEN is about the last straw. I'm now enjoying reading as many moffatthate blogs as possible, which is huge fun, weirdly :D. Although I wish Jacob-from-TWOP was still serving up beautiful existential hateration. In a sick way, I'm glad people are coming round to my ( Read more... )

I think you're not going to like the rest of season 6.

I have a feeling that the suck has reached back in time to warn me in advance and this is why I've been watching S6 so slowly.

Wait - you were run over by a car?!

If my previous experiences with broken ankles and shoulders are anything to go by, then it should be 'exercise daily for about 20 minutes; and the rest of the time keep off it'. At least, that was my doctor's advice; though in both instances I commuted it to 'exercise daily for about 20 minutes and the rest of the time, carry on as normal'. I think your body will basically tell you what it needs.

Well, more like 'bumped to the floor at 10mph' than actually 'run over', but the police are intrigued, especially as it was about 5pm and thus not a surprise time for people to be CROSSING SIDE-STREETS FFS.

I've definitely improved more in the last couple of days from 'doing stuff' rather than 'resting' and the physiotherapist (yay NHS) said it was time to 'work through the pain' and try not to limp.

I bet a broken shoulder is painful D:

Excruciatingly -- esp. as there is no way they can put it in a cast. Even if they could though, I doubt they would, as immobilisation could lead to what they call a 'frozen shoulder'. To be honest, I only had a hairline crack in it, but it still took more than a year to heal. I acquired the injury in quite a similar way you did yours: I walked into a bus that had just pulled out from the stop further up the road and consequently, wasn't travelling at any great speed yet. I put my arm out to ward off the worst of the impact, and was lucky to walk away from the collision with only my shoulder the worse for wear.

That's awful, bus drivers should know better. Did you get any compensation?

I saw the physiotherapist yesterday, and she said I should start doing lots of painful exercise. Although I 'wouldn't know about actual damage until it bent properly... or not', which is weird.

The bath thing is a good idea. I've been scared to get into one (because I'm a wuss, even though I can stand on the bad leg perfectly well), but I've practiced in a dry bath and it's ok :D

I never really liked Moffatt. Even 'The Empty Child' was 90% Barrowman charm. I love Matt Smith and the main cast, but watching the Doctor ask Rory for permission to hug his wife made me feel sick, and River's Wild Crazitude expressing itself in shoes and kissing and Amy being shunted aside and impregnated for half of her own storyline - all his Good Women just *sit there* and *wait*. His Bad Women do things but they are Wrong and... I still have five eps to watch D:

I'm going to cleanse myself by watching lots of Leela, Romana and Nyssa/Tegan episodes (and you just know that Moffat thinks the feminist rage is all about the miniskirt)

I foolishly prepared myself for this series by watching the whole of the Donna S4, which is brilliant, even with the ending. I remembered being really annoyed at the time because it seemed like 'foolish woman too weak for Timelord magic and needs to be with her family', but I think I was being too harsh about a personal story. Especially compared to the reams of foolish women on Moffatt.

As for TGIF, I was really involved in the bloody fandom up to that point and left almost right away because I haaated it for pretty much those reasons - it shocked me completely that the Doctor would leave helpless guests in a ship they couldn't fly while he pursued a terrible actress temporary shag. I had no problem with the Doctor having a cute regular mistress tucked away in the 18th century, but this weird loved-him-from-childhood, friend-abandoning creepy mess didn't seem romantic to me at all. I kind of judge people who do because I'm a big one for 'the team' and 'being nice to guests' and 'bros before hos ( ... )
