Finally saw a BSG episode

Thanks to narrowband and other concerns, it's been a while. 'Battlestar Galactica' finally came to freeview on Sky Three... and I forgot to watch it. I have now seen one episode from the first four and have episode six on tape. Of thirteen. And it's arcy. So this will be an interesting experiment in piecing together SF staples ( Read more... )

Well they do say "there are many copies" at the start of each episode while showing a split screen of the two Boomers, so it's not like they're giving you no help at all...

Heh, guess which minute I didn't have on the tape? It's nice that they give people a start because I was desperately hoping for an 'Andromeda'-style opening credits. All I got was a tasteful montage of nucelar explosions and a space-battle, which was very nice but not much help. I'll look out for the proper pre-credits sequence next week!

I think the show works, it's intelligent, political and beautifully shot/musically scored. The acting is also top notch, you see (English boy) Apollo and Baltar go through some real changes in S2. Trust me, there's some fucked up stuff going on here. Stick with it, it pisses over DS9 from a great height.

Nooo! DS9 roxxor! None shall come before it! Especially not with piss!

I have heard that there are buckets of angst in the good old Tom Fontana style, which is what we need. I'm especially keen to see little pink Apollo crack up. I might see the other episode I have taped this afternoon, although it probably won't make the Doctor Who finale look any more mature :|

Linda "flirted" with DS9 for a while but she found BSG to be some of the most satisfying (and often exciting) SF telly she has ever seen. Stick with it, it pays off. Big time.
