memes are fun but they lack substance and they're all so similar. I want to get to know my LJ friends by reading actual entries with developed thoughts, etc. Memes are pretty hollow... you can't really get to know someone if all they do is post memes. I'd rather friend someone who posts longer, fuller entries with the occasional mem than someone who posts a few memes a week.
