Absolutely wonderful -- I could completely see the scene in my mind. I am so happy to see somebody remember the horrors the Ministry accomplished! I love that he's always set on saving people.

And the "Go to my … Go to the desk" gave me a bittersweet little heart murmur.

Woo hoo! Your review means an awful lot because I'm a novice at angstiness and better known for the funnies. Tugging a heartstring or two has got me very chuffed!

I thought it was a dreadful waste of an epilogue not to recount something of the aftermath of war. It would have been so much more meaningful for the kids who read the books. I also haven't seen much evidence yet in the fics I've read.

Last of all, I thought that Snape's focus on Harry might not have been the complete story, given that he was worried about the state of his soul and in such a position of power amongst the Death Eaters.

It was wonderful, and it made me think. You're very subtle, which makes for good writing in general.

Come to think of it, I haven't read many recent fics that addressed much more than fans trying to think of ways to get Snape back from the dead for the purposes of nookie. I mean, I know there's a grieving period, and I like nookie as much as the next, but can't nookie also incorporate some of the 1984-ish hysteria I was so surprised to read in the last book? There were so many good things in with the bad!

And by the way, good job at remembering that the battle still goes on, especially with a corrupt, sociopath-led government to dismantle. Victims in the Dept of Mysteries! Shudder!

Oh, I love this. Bittersweet, with just the right amount of vulnerability from Snape. The understanding between Snape and Harry is nice, and I adore the idea of Snape's scrolls making the difference in seeing that justice is served this time.

You had me from Albus Dumbledore’s crass benediction made him glow as much as it always did!

I wanted Snape to be crying, but didn't want to say it outright because I had just described Harry in to same state. Also ran out of words and couldn't describe his voice!

I think Dumbledore was too focussed on Harry because he ended up loving him. I think Snape would have had a wider view and his inside knowledge would have given him the best understanding of the consequences of war.

Thank you!

What a lovely bit of angsty hopefulness that was. I hope their portraits end up together, but then I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

Yup, they did. I might write it but bluestocking did such a great job the inclination isn't there at the moment.

So she did. I'll have that as the sequel, then. ;o)

I'm always glad to see things that touch on the aftermath of the war. Surely everything was not fine and well and in order once Harry got Kreacher to bring him a sandwich again?

I really liked this. And Hermione's hint at planning to become Headmistress! Unless I completely misunderstood that. :-D
