A Marriage Law that affects everyone equally - much better than the usual biased versions. And I like that you have Hermione making up her own mind, rather than being pressured by the elders.

Yeah, I wanted it to be a bit more equal. My take on the MLC is a bit different -- there is not a threat from Voldemort as I'm placing this after the war. The law is the Ministry's bizarre attempt at bringing the wizarding world together. Wonder how well that will work. LOL

That line is a bit foreshadowy, isn't it? Hmm... *winks*
