Thanks, Sonia! I'm really glad you found it vivid, because when I was playing with the fabrics and runes and such, that's exactly what I was going for. Glad you enjoyed it!

The way you built this story is simply breathtaking. It's somehow reminiscent of a symphony. It's flows and changes, bringing out many moods; but, with a definite purpose. Your canon references give it an authenticity without overshadowing, or detracting from, your theme. This piece is truly remarkable.

Thank you very much! When you mentioned the symphony idea, it made me think of how I wrote this. I would write a few drabbles of it until it had a build and then dropped it down a note. Then, I'd leave it for a while and come back to make another build and drop. So, I can see how that method might have also influenced the feel. It's funny how that works out.

I like what you mention about the canon references, because I LOVE see authors creatively include canon. But you're right that sometimes it gets to be too much. So, I'm really glad to hear you thought this was a good amount.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review!

Thank you! It's cool to hear that you especially liked Severus in this story, considering it's so Hermione-centric. I'm glad he was able to shine through. :)

*fans self*

That was hot, in all the best ways, and sad and mysterious and lovely.

I want to know where Severus has been all these years and what Ron thinks Hermione is doing the nights she spends away, what Hermione thinks of their marriage and why she's still in it. You have truly left me wanting more. Well done.

Yay! It's good to know that the sex still did its job in between all the angst. The story overall has a melancholy tone, I think, but that doesn't mean the sex can't be hot. :)

Thanks for reading, enjoying, reviewing, and wanting more! I could answer those questions - at least how I envision it - but I think too many practicalities might get in the way.

The special art of the drabble is implying the existence of backstory without ever letting it show. The mystery is part of what makes this so good. That and the brilliantly original use of runes as a sexual device.

I absolutely agree about drabbles, and that's a great way of putting it. It's all about a moment (or series of moments), and when you're in the moment, backstory may be relevant, but it's not what's happening at that precise second.

As for the runes... If Harry and Ron had realized such a thing was possible, I imagine they would have added another class at Hogwarts. :)
