Title: His and Hers
Team Name: The Order of the Phoenix
Word Count: 100 X 2

Challenge: How Can You Fix a Broken Heart Challenge… I think….
Characters: Hermioine/Severus and...
Author's Notes: I really need to do this more often, except I'm not sure this fits the challenge... it's really more of broken heart(s). If this is disqualified, I'll totally understand. *looks cute and bats my eyes just in case I'm breaking the rules -- no one stays mad at puppy dog eyes, right?*

Summary: Both sides of a broken heart. Darker than what I usually write (remember, I am LariLee, Harlequin at Hogwarts).

His

The bedroom was totally devoid of her presence. Clothing, a few cosmetics, the endless pile of books… all gone. Snape wandered through his house, as if finding just one thing she left would guarantee her return. Empty spots in the bookcases where her books once rested. Kneazle -- gone. All those photographs -- only light patches on the wallpaper remained. Wallpaper she had picked out. He had told her, told her from the start, that he was not a good man, she would hate him in time. Hermione had laughingly disagreed

Heart bleeding, he knew he'd been right all along.

Hers

Forget the songs… love wasn’t' enough. Her love wasn't enough to deal with his temper, his taciturn nature, his silences.

Only at night, in the darkness, would he tell her he loved her -- never with words though. But his body, hands, mouth… all told her wordlessly that he loved her. Out of bed and in the daylight, all the gentle adoration disappeared.

And there was never any telling what would set him off.

Hermione paused before knocking on her parents' door. She kept only two things from him -- a broken heart and…

…her hand rested on her stomach.

mending a heart challenge, larilee
