Thank you! I thought that it would be fun to have Neville find an aid to his spell-damaged memory in a Muggle invention; hence, Post-Its are something he cannot do without.

If something comes up, like a challenge that I just cannot pass up, then perhaps I shall continue ... ooo ...

Lovely! Sitting here, all grinning and happy.
This is such a great addition to Pneumonia! As you promised, it really does give insight into your Severus. The way he's listening at the door, in the shadows and going from being jealous of Neville to being mainly happy he makes Hermione smile, his interest in his former students...
And I love this indirect way of interacting, him not telling her straight out he hired Neville, her sending post-it notes (hilarious) as a thank you :-) and maybe just to make HIM smile, too.
Thank you!

Happygrinning with you! Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I got home from school tonight and decided I needed to post this evening, to lift my spirits a bit. *points to icon*

I must credit my friend Benni with the idea of the Attack of the Post-Its. She recently traveled to Utah for a wedding, and drove from Salt Lake up to Logan to visit a friend. He had to go to a faculty meeting, but asked Benni to stay and wait if she could, so they could keep talking. She went wild with the Post-Its in his office, while he was gone! She wrote messages on at least fifty of them and put them inside books, desk drawers, his Bible (at her favorite scripture), his coat pocket ... everywhere. But nowhere you could see, from just standing in the room and looking around; they were all hidden from plain sight. So he'll still be finding new ones, months -- or even years -- from now.

Love the icon! Calvin is wonderful.
And you lifted my spirits, too, when I came home from school and working out tonight. (Another exam tomorrow...)
I really like that post-it idea. Will keep it in mind, never know when you can use it..
Thank you! Goodnight!

Here's my other Calvin icon. (I miss that strip!) I'm delighted that this helped, and I hope you do well on your exam!

Please keep the Post-Its in mind. Cool part about Benni's trick is that, years down the road when he's packing up his office, he'll take a book off his shelf that he hasn't looked at in all that time, and a Post-It from Benni with some cheery message will be stuck to the front cover.

You can't leave us there thinking what may have been... You can't I tell you!

I really enjoy the way you paint such a vivid picture in my mind so I always know exactly what is happening in your stories. You don't bog me down with to many descriptions too, which I like.

Well done, and I shall continue to read ANYTHING you write and keep on reviewing it.

Love Sonia :)

What may have been? What do you mean? What did you have in mind? Perhaps I can accommodate you. *smirk*

Your compliments on my writing are so very kind and so very appreciated; I can't tell you how delighted I am to read that; thank you!

I mean what happens between the two of them...???

I am only telling it how I see it. Your writing style is really easy to read and wonderful. I inspire to be as good as you one day in (hopefully) the not to distant future. Yes I can tell a tale however, I don't think I can tell it well, yet anyway.

My words of praise are few and far between but when I see a writer that I really enjoy reading their work I tell them.

Love Sonia :)

Well, this is a prequel of sorts to "Pneumonia," which takes place several years after this. I came up with "Professor Longbottom" after wondering how the heck Neville secured at job at Hogwarts, with Snape as the headmaster. In between Neville being hired and the January when Hermione comes down with pneumonia, there's little to tell; Severus and Hermione work hard, butt heads from time to time, and meet every Wednesday morning during her free hour to discuss administrative work and each other's insights about the school and how things are going. They share books from time to time and slowly grow more comfortable with each other, developing a tenuous friendship. They respect each other, and even like each other quite a bit, in a friendly capacity. (Though both Hermione and Severus has thoughts and feelings that they keep private, since they're working together, and anything unprofessional could make that work difficult.)

And then she gets sick. *wink*

I liked the detail of the hands, and I should also say I somehow missed there was a Longbottom I. D'oh. There, I just loved Hermione's outrage on his behalf, and though I somehow "got" the meaning of the want of the nail missive, that made things much clearer.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this; thank you! I think Hermione's outrage is because she and Harry got the spotlight, and once she'd settled down to married life (and realized that she'd made a mistake), there were so many members of the Order who got swept under the rug, their contributions ignored or never recognized. So Bloom's resignation because of Severus' Dark Mark, as well as her catty resignation letter, made Hermione absolutely furious.

Again, love, love, love this story universe. It seems so realistic and finely shaded, with lots of lovely little subtleties and details. This one really brought a smile to my face. :)

I did need something a bit more light-hearted, this time around; I'm so glad you liked it!
