The elderly witch sat on a chair she’d Conjured. Her aged bones and muscles were protesting from the lengthy walk from the gates. Leaning forward, she ran her hand along the rough stone. After nearly one hundred years of searching, she’d finally found him in a tiny town in Nunavut.
She’d been four years too late.
She grabbed the ribbon around her neck and pulled off the medal that she had been wearing. Moving to kneel on the ground, she placed her Order of Merlin on the grave.
“You deserve this more than I ever did, Severus,” Hermione whispered softly.
