Severus looked at the young girl before him. For she was young, being only eighteen, even though her life experiences had made her grow up rather quickly. She was beautiful, and by no means a simpleton. She had been compared to Merlin himself, and she had given her heart to Severus freely.
“I have nothing to give to you, Hermione. My hands are empty.”
“I know, Severus.”
She put her hands in his.
“Not empty now.”
He looked down at their joined hands, and for the first time realized that this love was for real.
“Thank you, Hermione. For everything.”
