Nice and dark. I love the remorse and the helpless feeling. Who knows but Jo just exactly the terrible things that Snape had to do in order to facilitate a much worse fate for the many? I imagine that it must have been quite a nightmare, even for someone with such a nasty streak in him.

I too have always wondered to what lengths Snape had to go to insure his own preservation and if his actions were based more on self preservation or the "greater good". By this I mean, how human is Severus Snape, and by what scale do we judge his humanity?
