My first fiction ever was a drabble. It took me 4 hours to write it. Drabbles force density of meaning and words. You have to think of one idea to convey. After you do about 25 to 50 drabbles they become easier and the quality increases. Writing is a skill. For me it is a very difficult skill, but fanfic is a less painful way to improve that skill.

Try to stay with single drabbles, then go to serials. From serials write short stories.

Welcome to GrangerSnape100! We are, and will always remain friendly to folks new to writing. Most of all, have fun. =)

I love that SS/HG are roll playing here...perhaps detention? LOL

Thank you for your comment! I wrote this in half an hour as it was mildly stewing in my head this week. Perhaps thirty minutes is too hasty?

I am definitely lacking in the writing department, and I figure that writing fanfiction would improve my writing more than any other class would? LOL So, I definitely agree with you there.

I've been shipping these two since I was 11 (2001), it's time I start to pay homage to this mind-blowing couple besides graphics :)

I was thinking "spur of the moment role playing?" But 100 words filled up faster than I thought it would.

Thank you so much for your well wishes and advice!! I am having fun! (I've been a lurker to this community for far too long!)

A very well written drabble, I´d say!

Your plot is clear and is has a nice twist. And it´s very sweet =)

Take it from someone who hasn´t been drabbling for that long, this is a great place for practising! You´ll love the super-kind and generous people around here!

Welcome =)

Why, thank you!! I feel that it's so abrupt since we don't know why they are there etc. The fate of drabbles I suppose! But I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Everyone here has been so supportive already!!

Thank you again!

Congratulations on losing your fanfic virginity!

And well done for this drabble. I like it very much.

Droxy's given you writing advice, so I'll do the same. Drabbles are like jokes - they need a punch line, no matter whether they are comic or not. This drabble of yours does have one, so well done! Other than that, writing is earned by doing. The more you do, in whatever the form, the better you'll get.

Welcome to writing, and welcome to GS100!

Oh, and come to the Dark Side. We have cookies, apparently. Not that I've ever seen any. I think the Slytherins eat them all.

I'm feeling quite excited about my lack of fanfic virginity now!

Thank you, your comments mean so much. Now I know what it means when authors say that comments fuel the muse!

Ohhh, I have never thought of a drabble having a punch line, or thought of like a joke before. This definitely gives me a different perspective. I feel that writing fanfic should improve my writing much more effectively than a real class.

I honestly signed up for the Double Agents because I was unsure of what the teams really meant!!!

Seriously, if you want concrit from people here and elsewhere in this corner of the fandom, then all you have to do is ask. If someone doesn't have the time, then they'll decline, but you will find there is always help here for those who ask it (to paraphrase Dumbledore).

Onwards and upwards!

Thank you for your wonderful comment! I try to read as much as I can, but school prevents me from having free time to read. I try to catch up in the summer and go crazy.

At first, I thought a drabble would have been easier than a real story. Boy was I wrong! Diction and conciseness was so important. It forced me to be precise and not fill my story with filler and unnecessary words.

Thank you thank you!!!

She's absolutely right - I've learned a huge amount from writing drabbles. And they're skills I apply to longer fiction too.
