Urgent Compassion
Felix Felicis…. Failure.
Then again, Severus thought, shifting his grip over the gaping wound, even luck has its limits.
Heavy dust dragged into his lungs, his coat catching on a fractured floorboard. He leaned back, and dry wood cracked beneath him, echoing through the empty shack.
Another crack and he willed his eyes to rise.
His questioning look met urgent compassion; her small hand slipped over his.
Even as she tipped a vial of cool liquid against his lips, his eyes remained guarded, yet Hermione felt his hand flex against hers.
As his eyes slipped closed, she leaned low.
"Yes."
