So I rented Bram Stoker's Dracula this week and watched it for the first time. It was really good and I must say that Gary Oldman was awesome. I can see how this movie prepared him for that crazy Azkaban look in POA

The thing that kept throwing me off though was his Charlie and the Chocolate Factory look. I kept thinking, "that's Johnny Depp", whenever he was in the top hat and Lennon glasses! lol
It definitely had a better effect back then, pre-Charlie and the Chocolate factory. I thought he was really hot in that movie (when he wasn't that Fugly Looking Bat Thing) and basically, it was where I fell in love with Oldman.

I'd say he and Johnny Depp like crazy/creepy/kooky roles. He was pretty crazy in Fifth Element, too! Basically, everytime Garry Oldman appears in a movie, I have to do a double take and ask myself, "Is that him?" I actually got a little depressed when I saw him on "Batman Begins." I was thinking, "Goodness, he looks old..." But I know they aged him. He's still his nice, Middle-aged self.
The Fifth Element was on the tube the other night. I've only seen bits and pieces, so I didn't even realize Oldman was in it. Of course now it's hard for me to think of him as anything but Sirius. He polishes up nice though, and I can't wait to see what Sirius will look like in movie 5.
How long has it been since you've seen 'Lost Boys'? I mean it's got Keifer Sutherland, Jason Patric (remember their ugly Julia Roberts/marriage thing...eek), both Corey's (Feldman and Haim) and Rory Gilmore's Grandpa...I know you've seen this flick and I know it's not the best movie ever made, but it's one of my favorite vamp movies.
I can't recommend 'Interview with a Vampire' because I never, ever recommend Tom Cruise movies anymore...I have a strict Anti-Tom Cruise policy. Besides the movie totally bites (and not in a good way) compared to the book(s) and he was such a revoltingly bad choice for Lestat - it's shocking that the picture even got made. There's Van Helsing...not very good but I like the cinematic quality and Underworld which I haven't seen but here good things about.
This is so embarassing. I've never seen Lost Boys. I didn't even know it was a vamp pic until you mentioned it. I thought it was about some boys who were stranded on an island and resorted to cannibalism! Well, I guess drinking someone's blood is a kind of cannibalism. ;) I must rent that one now and watch it.
I've actually seen Interview with the Vampire back when it came out in the theatres. I don't remember too much about it though. And I agree with the whole Tom Cruise thing. He just doesn't look sexy to me anymore. Something about forcing his wife to give birth to a child without medicine and without screaming...just doesn't appeal to me! ;)
