Down in Fraggle Rock

I went to Austin this weekend with B to kick it around town, and pretty much learned that it doesn't really matter if you're in a cool city or not if all you do in your free time is stay in your house. Not that I wanted to do that all weekend, but the thought did actually sit in the back of my mind and creep up from time to time. Does that make ( Read more... )

Sorry that I wasn't able to hang out Sunday. Too many panda puffs? :(

Saturday was particularly awesome, though. I wish that I could have pulled more ideas out of my head in the way of places to visit, though.

I always complain about spending way too much time in the dormroom, but a lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm just not ready to be around people at that certain moment instead of just laziness (which does account for a lot of it, unfortunately). I'm just too introverted for my own good sometimes.

Grrrl, I totally had a blast hanging with you around your quaint little town, especially the movie theater and the little cafe. The whole place had that laid back atmosphere I haven't felt since I was in California last summer, so I should be having a stroke anyday now. Maybe next time I go to Austin I can bring my longboard and we can break our ankles. We can get those pink Hello Kitty armbands like the Thai police have to wear now, too.

Unsure if I'm making much sense, but... tinysqueak August 7 2007, 05:03:07 UTC
I can really relate. I go to parties and spend most of the time thinking about when it might be appropriate to leave, or if I can slip away early and un-noticed. For me, the most enjoyable environment is dinner with friends, or having people over - I just don't really enjoy meeting a whole bunch of people and making friendly chit-chat. I tend to want to talk with people about things that just make me look like sort of a loon. I guess I can pretend quite convincingly that I'm enjoying myself, but I'd really rather be elsewhere ( ... )
