Why we can't have nice things.

I have suffered a binge of clothing destruction lately. Two pairs of kakhis have begun to show tattering at the cuffs. Most of my undershirts are on the unfortunate end of the white-gray continuum

I feel your pain. I bought all new work shirts for my business trip earlier this year, only to unpack when I got there and find a bunch of nice, well-cut, blouses with what looked like a pen explosion on them. You know, those weird blue-ish splotches from when you shake pens and they leak? No idea how it happened. Those shirts were freshly washed, and nothing else in that load of laundry was stained. I ended up buying new stuff from target that wasn't nearly as good, just so I had work clothes :(
