I'm not looking to pick a fight (I have no strong love for Gareth-Michael Skarka), but I am curious: what, exactly, is your beef with him?

His treatment of his backers of Far West, which seems consistent with his treatment of pre-orderers and customers for other products, has made him the second person in the RPG industry that I refuse to buy stuff they create (the other being RPGPundit).

Fair enough.

The Far West debacle is mind-scroggling, a disappearing act to rival Jamie Mal's.

As for the Pundit, well, yeah. Don't even have to ask about that one. :)

I have Rivendell. It's really fun! I am a massive Tolkien aficionado, and I think the original game is a work of small genius, but my true love is for the tragic Noldor of the Silmariliion and The Lord of the Rings. Now I can play such a one! I understand the designers' desire to keep the game's first iteration a bit smaller-scale in terms of protagonist power level, but I think Tolkien mimesis functions best when one can have characters of vastly different age, personal power, and knowledge, as in Rings (and, to a lesser extent, The Hobbit).

Yep. The One Ring just seems to get stronger the further it goes along :) If they release the next three books they have mentioned (Ruins of the North, Adventurers Companion and Riders of Rohan), it going to be a very strong line up.
