The Commissioner's Prize

This is the end of this roleplay thread.

Snake watched his companions disappear down the hall before turning back to stare through the dark doorway he stood in to the hole in the wall and the swirling red lights beyond. He was proud of that gapping hole that he had created in the wall but he could think about that later. Right now he needed a distraction so the others could get past the cops.

Never one to be fearful and always looking for a way to flaunt his flawless escapes and make the cops look like asses, Snake strode out into the room. His eye focused on that gapping wound in the bricks and the movement he could see beyond. With the confidence reserved for a man who knew his abilities and didn’t care for much else, Plissken walked right into the hole and leaned on the jagged bricks to light a smoke.

He watched the cherry form before tossing the match toward one of the closest cops. The man stared at the match as it puttered to darkness and then looked up. The Snake smiled watching the blackbelly’s jaw drop and lifted his one finger at him. His name was formed silently and Plissken looked out to see if anyone else had noticed. They were all still oblivious until the cop who had seen the match finally managed to speak.

“My God! It’s Plissken!”

That got all the attention Snake needed he flicked the cigarette down the crumbled stairs and disappeared back into the building. The world outside that hole had exploded into a cacophony of sounds and shouts. Plissken nonchalantly walked back into the long hallway he had been peering from before he had boldly given them a big “fuck you”.

He glanced out the window to see his companions dashing for the alley where he had stashed his humvee. That was good enough for him and he started moving. Snake could hear the boots crushing the broken bricks they were getting close. Plissken broke into a run and hit the stairs to the roof with a bound before taking them three at a time.

Snake was looking to make the fire escape and disappear. He had done it flawlessly in the past so many times he couldn’t count. They chased like hounds, too stupid to surround their prey. Snake shook his head and removed the pin from the door. It gave way to the roof and the silhouettes of black on black. Snake hadn’t expected this and the boots were already pounding on the metal stairs behind him.

Glancing to the wall he saw the railing for the fire escape. In a split second he made a break for it only to skid to a halt as an AK was shoved in his face. He could see the toothy grin even through the black visor. His hands went up but he was still looking for an escape route as they closed in.

“Going somewhere Snake.”

The voice behind him curdled his insides like spoiled milk. It was Hauk, the unmistakable voice accompanied by the smell of scotch and Camels could be no other.

“Not really.” Snake spat at him turning from the gun to face the commissioner. He was striding toward Snake like he owned the place and were they not enemies Snake would have admired him. At the moment though and as things stood he hated that man with a vengeance.

“Nice hole. Mind telling me what you were up to?”

Hauk lit a cigarette and offered one to Snake. He scowled not even acknowledging the offer. Friendly gestures coming from a man who wanted you to hang was something Plissken despised.

Snake watched Hauk sizing him up but remained stock still and stood as tall as he could imagine. Plissken knew what he must look like after fighting for almost an hour. He could feel the blood caking as it dried on his shirt and face. Momentarily he wondered what Hauk was thinking behind those cold steel eyes. All of that was forgotten when he heard the ominous words and felt the metal cuffs close on his wrists.

Snake didn’t even feel angry. It was more a nuisance and Snake rolled his eye sighing heavily at the commissioner before they shoved him toward the steps he had just left.
